Experiences with Design Studios and future directions

So far, I think the design studios have really helped me grab the taste of architecture which was what I like about the Architectural Computing at UNSW. In Russell Lowe's design studio, we get the idea of how computers can be involved in architecture and it was certainly easy and straight forward. Xing's design studio has really dealt with the taste of architecture whether its to do with architectonics, parti drawings and poche drawings. I also got a taste of modelling skills and I learned and appreciated how they play a key role when it comes to working in an architectural industry. The most important thing about modelling is all about taking pride with design as well as neat presentation to show clients clearly how the building works.

With my future directions, my intention is to specialise in Digital Architecture because I find this area of specialisation interesting. I'm also keen to gain experience with doing architectural related stuff such as parametric modelling skills, 3d modelling skils, rendering skills, 3D visualisation skills as well as real-time visualisation skills. Since the fact that I'm a 20 year old student, I still have a long way to go but all I need is to take baby steps at a time to acheive that goal and one day I can do a lot of good things for the country and the globe.
